For the first time, New York City was not a stop on the audition tour. This was the first season to have Salt Lake City, Utah as one of the audition stops. One of the Top 20 finalists, William Wingfield, was trained under Debbie Allen at her dance academy in Nashville, Tennessee. Due to this, Allen was ineligible to be a guest judge until Wingfield was eliminated.
