Marko Germar is a jazz and contemporary dancer who finished 3rd during Season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance.

BiographyEdit

Marko was born and raised in Guam before moving to Los Angeles in 2008. He comes from Filipino background. His mother is/was a ballroom instructor in Guam. He trained in all styles of dance such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap and even gymnastics although he claimed that he was not a fan of anything other than hip hop growing up. The training he had was not consistent and since the opportunities were not available to him, he learned from YouTube. 

So You Think You Can DanceEdit

Marko was partnered up with contemporary dancer, Melanie Moore. The two were known as the season's power couple. Marko, along with his partner, never fell in the bottom all season which put them in the finale. Marko was the last man standing and finished in 3rd place. Some of his memorable performances were Turn to Stone by Travis Wall, Skin and Bones by Dee Caspery and I Got You by Tabitha and Napoleon D'umo. He shined in Prague which was choreographed by Justin Giles.

Post SYTYCDEdit

Marko is an active All Star with SYTYCD. He has been doing a lot of commercial work since the show. He has performed as a dancer for Jennifer Lopez and numerous times for Disney as well as Glee. He has been in Shake it Up and has performed with Ross Lynch. He also performed on The Voice and, most recently, was one of the head dancers in Teen Beach Movie. Germar can be spotted numerous times throughout the movie. He was also in the movie Step Up Revolution. He competed alongside Sheaden Gabriel as his all star mentor on Season 13 of So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation. He replaced his original mentor, Joshua Allen after he had to withdraw. Unfortunately, Sheaden was eliminated in the top 9 week on July 25th 2016.
