Meet the Top 20 (June 27, 2012)Edit

Classically-trained Daniel is sent in with fellow ballet dancer Chehon Wespi-Tschopp. Daniel is praised by the judges for his effort through Vegas Week but Nigel tells him that he was a little disappointed by his final solo. Daniel is then told he made it to the Top 20, followed by the judges telling Chehon that he also made it though . He dances a ballet routine with Chehon and Eliana Girard. The piece was danced to "Romantic Inclinations/Like A Shot/Fury" by P. Mottram, S. Everitt, G. Shadid, and T. Marberger, and choreographed by Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson.

Week 1 (July 11, 2012)Edit

In the package, the dancers must describe themselves in nine seconds. Daniel is paired up with Alexa Anderson and assigned a jazz by Sean Cheesman to "Hey Hey" (DF's Attention Vocal Remix) by Dennis Ferrer. Nigel tells them that he hopes the audience really appreciates how difficult the routine was because it had so many wonderfully intricate moves and it went by quickly. But he also says that the pair have to find the time though, and not just smile through out the entire routine. Mary said that she was actually glad to see Daniel smiling because he always seemed so serious when dancing ballet. Guest judge Kenny Ortega said it was a demanding piece with lots of extraordinary risk and said he appreciated the exercise but felt they weren't as invested in it as he wished.

Week 2 (July 18, 2012)Edit

Daniel and partner Alexa danced a contemporary by Dee Caspary to "So Long My Friend" by Yanni. Guest judge Adam Shankman praised Caspary for the difficult and beautiful routine but tells the dancers that although he was aware of the technical side to the dance, he felt they were lacking a bit on the passion side of the dance. Mary also thought it was beautiful and executed perfectly, but thinks that Daniel and Alexa are missing a little bit of chemistry between the two of them. Nigel agrees with the other two judges and tells the dancers that they were missing the connection between the two of them and the audience.

During the results, Daniel found himself in the Bottom 6 due to his jazz in Week 1. After some deliberation, Daniel Baker was eliminated from So You Think You Can Dance.
