Meet the Top 20 (June 27, 2012)Edit

Alexa is the first to get the news whether she's in the Top 20 or not. The judges believed she showed a lot of fight in Vegas and she makes it through. She dances a contemporary routine with George Lawrence II, Will Thomas, and Amber Jackson. The piece was danced to "We Found Love" (BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge) by Jessie J. and choreographed by Tyce Diorio. Alexa is praised by Nigel and he tells her that she's had alot of screen time this season with many people telling her that she needs to perform and with this piece, she found her performance. Guest judge Zooey Deschanel praises the group for their teamwork.

Week 1 (July 11, 2012)Edit

In the package, the dancers must describe themselves in nine seconds. Alexa is paired up with Daniel Baker and assigned a jazz by Sean Cheesman to "Hey Hey" (DF's Attention Vocal Remix) by Dennis Ferrer. Nigel tells them that he hopes the audience really appreciates how difficult the routine was because it had so many intricate moves that went by quickly. But he also says that the pair have to somehow find the time to showcase these moves though, and not just smile through out the entire routine. Mary thought the routine was exciting and that they did a job well done. Guest judge Kenny Ortega said it was a demanding piece with lots of extraordinary risk and said he appreciated the exercise but felt they weren't as invested in it as he wished.

Week 2 (July 18, 2012)Edit

Alexa and partner Daniel danced a contemporary by Dee Caspary to "So Long My Friend" by Yanni. Guest judge Adam Shankman praised Caspary for the difficult and beautiful routine but tells the dancers that although he was aware of the technical side to the dance, he felt they were lacking a bit on the passion side of the dance. Mary also thought it was beautiful and executed perfectly, but thinks that Alexa and Daniel are missing a little bit of chemistry between the two of them. Nigel agrees with the other two judges and tells the dancers that they were missing the connection between the two of them and the audience.

During the results, Alexa found herself in the Bottom 6 due to her jazz in Week 1. After some deliberation, Alexa Anderson was eliminated from So You Think You Can Dance.
